Exceptions to this are the shapefile data. Title, copyright and all other proprietary rights in the GIS data and the documentation remain vested in English Heritage.
The background mapping was originally Crown Copyright Ordnance Survey, but as 50 years has elapsed since they were produced, this copyright has expired. The clever chaps at New Popular Editions have scanned these maps, and have licensed them under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial Licence 2.5. You should read the full licence here. It is summarised in this 'human-readable' document.
The whirling 'Loading' icon is by Joel Bradshaw (from his blog at CommaCommaCrash) building on the Tango Icon Gallery. Both the icon and the Gallery are Creative Commons.
